Living together
Survival of the fittest is what the natural selection rule says. Although most of the time we make changes to the environment for our own advantage, we still need to fit into the environment and take others’ needs into consideration. Living in school apartments is such a situation, especially sharing a room with others. We have to learn how to get along with other people in order to live comfortably and peacefully.
For people living on campus, roommates are the most important and closest people to you. Nice roommates can bring joy to your life while bad ones might bring pain if you are unlucky. Lucky or not, I lived on my own for my first year in the US, without any roommates. However, i was very familiar with other Chinese students’ roommates, who were all Americans.
Everyone was different from each other. One was nicknamed “Xiao Xigua” by us, which means small watermelon in Chinese. He liked to talk with us in his American Chinese. He always said mean words, “shut up ” and “whatever”, which made me burst into laughter. Brian, a roommate of another Chinese student, is a really nice person, who offered me a book on physics research. However, he drove me crazy sometimes. If he was in a bad mood, I couldn’t go into his room or we would surely have an argument.
There were also some “crazy” Americans in the apartment, people who often shouted at and bossed their roommates around by giving orders. In short, roommates differ as much as animals in the natural world so. It would be a lucky thing to have a roommates who has a nice personality and is friendly to Chinese roommates. We should learn how to bear and work with others in order to be successful and happy.
Roommates can actually become best friends. Wherever we go in the future, we will never forget our roommates and the precious memories we have with them.
                      The importance of ___1___with roommates
Basic rules: __2____
___3__ an apartment with others comfortably and peacefully, we need to fit in the environment and ___4__ others’ needs.
Roommates on campus
Like it or not, they are the closest people to you. They can either make you ___5___or ___5___
Good ___6___of different roommates
“Xiao Xigua” liked to use mean words in American Chinese.
Brian, nice as he was, could make me mad and ___7__me ___7__ his room.
Some “crazy” American roommates often shouted at others or made themselves___8___.
The ideal roommate is one who has a nice personality and ___9__ Chinese roommates well.
Conclusion
No matter where we go in the future, the ___10___with our roommates will last forever.
