A birch (桦树) is a tree. It has a smooth bark (树皮) and is usually white. Many people like to drink birch sap. Sap is the juice inside the tree.

桦树是一种树。它的树皮光滑，通常为白色。许多人喜欢喝桦树液。树液是树里面的汁液。

People make a hole in the tree. The sap comes out. It comes out very slowly. People usually leave a bottle there and then they leave. When they come back, the bottle is full. Now, there is an app (应用程序). The app sends a message to a person’s phone when the bottle is full.

人们在树上挖一个洞。树液就出来。它出来地很慢。人们通常会把瓶子放在那里然后离开。当他们回来时，瓶子已经满了。现在，有一个应用程序。当瓶子装满时，该应用程序会向用户的手机发送一条消息。

People believe that birch sap is very healthy. But scientists say that it is not so special. Many people drink it because their parents and grandparents do it, too. People often use the same tree. The sap has no color. It is sweet when it is fresh. It gets sour after a few days.

人们相信桦树液非常健康。但科学家们说，它并没有那么特别。很多人喝它是因为他们的父母和祖父母也喝。人们经常使用同一棵树。树液没有颜色。新鲜时是甜的。几天后就变酸了。
